After last year's wildly successful Knockout cup, UKCS has decided to bring the event to the next level. This year we've invited some of the largest TF2 communities to compete in the first inter-community cup held by UKCS!

The community knockout cup is a 9v9 highlander competition in which the winning team goes on to the next round. Each community has the chance to add up to two teams. Each team must have a captain who will be the first point of contact for the event. More information about the teams and the rules of this competition can be found here.

The first round of this event will be held on the 26th of March with the first match starting at 5pm GMT. The semi-final, final and runner-up decider will be held on the 27th of March. These rounds will also start at 5pm UK time. Click here for information on scheduling.

Server connection information and password info will be given to the team captains on the date of the event.

Listed below are the currently participating communities. If you are interested in participating as a commmunity team, contact Trell on the UKCS forums for additional information.

Teams will be composed of 9 players, as per standard Highlander rules, and can have up to 3 reserve players. Players that enter in this competition may not be higher than Div 5 in the ETF2L ranking. As this is a Highlander competition, only one of each class may be represented in every team. Each team must assign a captain who will organise the team. This person will be given all information needed (such as server and password information) on the night of the event. All captains need to be present in the UKCS Steam community Chat to be informed of fixtures and changes that may occur.

Each team will play a single 20 minute map with the winner going through to the next round. If the match ends in a stalemate, the winner will be determined by one round of sudden death. All matches will have random crits turned off. All unlocks that are freely present in the game at the time of writing (14/02/11) are allowed. No items added past this point or promotion items will be permitted. Fixed damage spread and fixed weapon spread will be on.

This competition is meant to be a friendly, but competitive, event. Abusive text or voice chat will not be tolerated and may result in that team being disqualified.

Any teams caught cheating/hacking will immediately be forced to forfeit the match and will not be allowed to take part in future cups. Teams unable to field the required 9 players inside of a 10 minute grace period of the match starting will forfeit by default.
