At UKCS we're always looking for ways to make your playing experience better. That's why we're thrilled to
announce that UKCS:TF2#6 has been selected as the server platform to provide some exciting alternative
game configurations for you to enjoy:
Vanilla mode and Turbine/Granary 24/7!
We'll be keeping an eye on what you guys (You at the back- especially you) think about the changes to the server and we'll be changing TF2#6 to reflect that in the near future!
Ever since TF2 was first released, man has wondered "what would the game be like if nothing ever got changed?". If you too have wondered what it would be like to be trapped in a giant bubble of sticky time retardant gel, we have just the thing for you!
Vanilla mode is what TF2 would have been like had there been no updates since its release- that means that there are no hats, no taunt kills, no extra weapons, no upgradable or moveable buildings and perhaps most importantly, Pyros can no longer airblast. Curse you, Pyros! Not only that, all other settings (like respawn times) are set to default too.
Featuring only the 6 maps that were included in the original TF2 release (Dustbowl, Granary, Gravel Pit, Well, 2Fort, and Hydro), you can see what it was like back when TF2 first started and enjoy the game without all the frills added by Valve!
If you want to show your support for Vanilla Mode, all you need to do is log onto TF2#6 (220.127.116.11:27030) from April the 9th to 16th. You can also discuss it on the UKCS forums here.
We've seen how much you all love 24/7 map servers, so we're going to try out split maps 24/7 on TF2#6 too!
#6 is going to have a whole week of trialling ctf_turbine & cp_granary, and as if that wasn't cool enough already, we'll even throw in ctf_turbine_pro during peak hours!
If turbine and granary aren't your thing, please do drop us a line on the UKCS forums so we can have a look at trying out an alternative set of maps!
If you want to show your support for 24/7 split maps, all you need to do is log onto TF2#6 (18.104.22.168:27030) from April the 16th to 23rd. You can also discuss it on the UKCS forums here.
